Teenage sensation makes senior UK debut…
British tennis fans rejoice. It may have taken almost three months, but Junior Wimbledon Champion Laura Robson is back on a tennis court. The fourteen year old yesterday made her first professional outing in the UK, securing a three set win over fellow Brit Sarah Borwell in an ITF event in Shrewsbury.
Such is the absence of any other female tennis talent in Britain, that Robson is likely to remain in the spotlight and will no doubt soon have a grassy verge in Wimbledon that she can call her own.

This isn’t her pro debut. She played in a $10,000 ITF event in Limoges a week or two back, winning two qualifying matches and one main draw match before retiring injured at 2-4 down in her second main draw match.
