Scot on course to play Federer

Andy Murray eased past dangerous Frenchman Gael Monfils in the quarter finals of the Madrid Masters, winning 6-2, 6-2. The in-form Scot now plays either Roger Federer, his conquereor in this year’s US Open final, or Argentine crybaby Juan Martin del Potro.

In the other half of the draw, world number one Rafael Nadal meets fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez while Ivo Karlovic takes on unseeded Frenchman Gilles Simon.
