Cry me a river, then hole me a birdie
Pop star Justin Timberlake will follow in the footsteps of the likes of Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra when he hosts a PGA Tour event later this month. The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will take place at TPC Summerlin, Las Vegas, from 13-19 October.
Briny Baird, Ken Duke, Hunter Mahan, Mark Calcavecchia, David Duval and Mike Weir are among the players who have agreed to take part in Justin’s tournament. Timberlake said:
“Vegas is going to be fun. I’m going to try to spice it up a little bit while still keeping the respect for the game. Wednesday is going to be the Pro-Am, and then Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday we get to watch the real guys do their thing. It’s a real tournament. But Wednesday will be a Pro-Am. We’ll have some celebrities out there and sports stars in other fields. It’s going to be fun. We’re going to try to mix up the format a little bit and have a little fun with it.
The whole week will be full of activities. I’m actually going to host a show with a concert, and we’re going to have stuff all week long. We’re basically going to take over Vegas.”
JT - a keen golfer - will host the tournament annually for the next five years.
