Europe veteran reveals US intimidation tactics

Lee Westwood has described the “shameful” abuse he received from US fans at the Ryder Cup. The disruptions included a 12.30am ´good luck´call from American fans ahead of the all-important singles matches yesterday. This was followed up by a 4.30am call to his parents room, which was reportedly due to a mix-up over Westwoods and nothing to do with rumours that Lee was sharing a bed with his parents.
“I found that quite amusing because it ruined my dad’s preparation for walking around today,” Westwood joked. The Englishman also found himself on the receiving end of a haunting after a fan draped in a white sheet jumped out on him and shouted “Booooo” in his face between the fifth and sixth holes.
“And he was the one which get ejected, which was amusing because he was the one who made me laugh,” he said. “But all the rest of the abuse I got was fairly nasty. Pretty shameful really.”

Faldo’s happy everyone!
