Let’s get ready to rumble applaud politely

After the grand build-up, the selection dilemmas, the mind-games, the team-bonding and probably a lot of other things, we are now just an hour from the start of play in the Ryder Cup. Europe’s Padraig Harrington and Robert Karlsson open the tournament against the United States’ Phil Mickelson and Anthony Kim.

Next up will be Henrik Stenson and Paul Casey against Justin Leonard and Hunter Mahan, followed by Justin Rose and Ian Poulter taking on Stewart Cink and Chad Campbell. Europe’s Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia and US pair Kenny Perry and Jim Furyk make up the last group.
