Some might call these men a waste of space…

With the captaincy of the Ryder Cup comes a certain amount of prestige, but many argue that, really, the skipper counts for very little. Thus far, Nick Faldo has done nothing to endear himself with a bumbling display of gaffes, defensive interviews, and by picking just one man to act as the vice captain (rather than two), he has ensured that it’ll be his face seen peering all over the course. His ego will be well served. Of course, should Europe come out on top, he will demand the plaudits, and if they don’t, he can simply ooze back into the real world with his reputation as a “prick” (thanks, Azinger) completely intact.
